Mary Ann Block, DO

Mary Ann Block, DO holds a clinical faculty appointment at University of North Texas Health Science Center, is a peer reviewer for the AOA Journal, and chaired the Health Committee for The National Foundation for Women Legislators. She served on the boards of American Academy of Osteopathy, Pan American Allergy, American Academy of Environmental Medicine, and was the recipient of the Stockseth Award for Osteopathic Excellence. Peter Bongiorno, ND

Peter Bongiorno, ND, LAc specializes in mood disorder and depression and is co-medical director of InnerSource Natural Health and Acupuncture in New York. Dr. Bongiorno was a pre-doctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health and at the National Institute of Mental Health’s department of Clinical Neuroendocrinology before training at Bastyr University in naturopathic medicine and acupuncture. He is a major contributor to the Textbook of Natural Medicine (Elsevier – Murray and Pizzorno, eds) and authored the 2010 textbook for physicians, Healing Depression: Integrated Naturopathic and Conventional Therapies for Depression. His latest professional text is Holistic Therapies for Anxiety and Depression, released by WW Norton in 2015. Dale Bredesen, MD

Dale Bredesen, MD is internationally recognized as an expert in the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. He graduated from Caltech, then earned his MD from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. He served as Chief Resident in Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) before joining Nobel laureate Stanley Prusiner’s laboratory at UCSF as a NIH Postdoctoral Fellow. He held faculty positions at UCSF, UCLA, and the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Bredesen directed the Program on Aging at the Burnham Institute before coming to the Buck Institute on Aging in 1998 as its founding President and CEO.

Louis Cady, MD

Louis Cady, MD obtained his medical degree in 1989 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He then trained in psychiatry at the world-famous Mayo Clinic, beginning his practice of child, adolescent, adult, and forensic psychiatry in Evansville, Indiana, in 1993. Dr. Cady’s main clinical focus is in helping patients achieve total wellness and optimum levels of performance through the integration of mind and body for peak performance. Jill Carnahan, MD

Jill Carnahan, MD completed her residency at the University of Illinois Program in Family Medicine at Methodist Medical Center. She is dually board-certified in Family Medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine. In 2010, she founded Flatiron Functional Medicine in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Carnahan is also 10-year survivor of breast cancer and Crohn’s disease and is passionate about teaching patients how to “live well” and thrive in the midst of complex and chronic illness.

Nicola McFadzean Ducharme, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, trained in both the United States and her native country of Australia. She received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She practices holistic medicine specializing in Lyme disease, hormone balancing, autistic-spectrum disorders, pre-conception health care, and digestive disorders. Mark Filidei, DO

Mark Filidei, DO is an Internal Medicine physician who completed training in General Internal Medicine at Brown University. He is the Director of Integrative Medicine for the Amen Clinics, and is a staff physician at the Whitaker Wellness Institute, the largest Functional Medicine clinic in the United States, where he spent over a decade treating thousands of patients for multiple complex medical issues. Dr. Filidei is an officially trained member of ILADS and treats Lyme disease and mold illness with both natural and conventional treatments. Jorge Flechas, MD was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He achieved both his Doctorate in Medicine (1977) and his Masters Degree in Public Health (1979) from Loma Linda University in California. In addition to his family practice, Dr. Flechas' sub-specialities include iodine therapy for thyroid and breast disorders, bio-identical hormone replacement for both men and women, and diagnosis and treatment of cardiac-related issues such as coronary artery disease, artherosclerosis, and hypertension. Felice Gersh, MD

Felice L. Gersh, MD is one of a small number of Board Certified OB/GYN physicians who is also a graduate of the prestigious two-year Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona School of Medicine. Dr. Gersh received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, where she also served for over a dozen years as a clinical assistant professor of OB/GYN. James Greenblatt, MD

James M. Greenblatt, MD is Chief Medical Officer at Walden, where he oversees eating disorder programs in Massachusetts and Connecticut (www.waldenbehavioralcare.com). He is board-certified in child and adult psychiatry. He received his medical degree and completed his adult psychiatry residency at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medical School. Leslie Korn, PhD

Leslie Korn, PhD, MPH is a Harvard Medical School-trained traumatologist, NIH- funded scientist, and public health activist. Her work began in the jungle of Mexico where for over 25 years she directed a natural medicine clinic serving indigenous populations. She has provided over 50,000 hours of care integrating cranial sacral therapy, somatic psychotherapy and nutritional and herbal therapies, and detoxification focusing on the treatment of complex trauma and chronic illness. Michael Lewis, MD

Michael D. Lewis, MD, MPH, MBA, FACPM, FACN is an expert on nutritional interventions for brain health, particularly the prevention and rehabilitation of brain injury. Upon retiring as a Colonel after 31 years in the U.S. Army, he founded the nonprofit Brain Health Education and Research Institute. Jay Lombard, DO is a board-certified neurologist and is a renowned international speaker on topics related to brain wellness. Benjamin Lynch, ND received his Cell and Molecular Biology, BS from the University of Washington and his ND from Bastyr University. Arwen Podesta, MD

Arwen Podesta, MD is a board certified adult psychiatrist with sub-specializations in addiction medicine, forensic psychiatry, and integrative & holistic medicine. After Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Podesta was involved with psychiatric care for the most needy and disenfranchised in New Orleans. She recently helped create, and is Medical Director of a new treatment group, Dependency Pain Treatment Center. William Shaw, PhD

William Shaw, PhD received his Ph.D. in biochemistry and human physiology from the Medical University of South Carolina and is board certified in clinical chemistry and toxicology. Dr. Shaw has supervised large endocrinology, nutritional biochemistry, toxicology, and immunology departments in positions at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Smith Kline Laboratories. As the Director of The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. in Lenexa, Kansas, he specializes in providing diagnostic tools aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders, mitochondrial disorders, neurological diseases, chronic health issues, and immune diseases.

Ann Shippy, MD

Ann Shippy, MD received her Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Texas and is board certified in Internal Medicine, and certified in Functional Medicine. She began her career in medicine after being an engineer for over a decade, when the traditional approach of allopathic medicine could not solve her own health issues. She has established two non-profit organizations, Good Food Matterz Foundation and Toxicity Matters® Foundation. She is the author of two books, Shippy Paleo Essentials and Mold Toxicity Workbook.
